As you might already know, we recently added Imunify360 as a product add-on for our Linux server clients!

But, you may be asking yourself, “What IS Imunify360? How beneficial is it? Do I even need it?”. The purpose of this post is to answer these frequently asked questions so you can decide whether this add-on is something you should purchase for your Linux server.

So, what is Imunify360?

Imunify360 is a security suite that includes tools and services for defending your Linux-based web server from malicious attacks. Although it is mostly a premium solution, it does offer some free tools if you wish to try out some of its features.

Imunify360 integration is already available on several web servers. In some circumstances, you will have the option to choose it independently based on your needs.

As a result, selecting a server provider that includes Imunify360 as part of its security features should make the process easier while also saving you money.

What are the benefits of enabling Imunify360 on my server?

Imunify360 can be used to replace any of the best website application firewall (WAF) services for all-around protection. This is due to its collection of security tools it utilises to keep your data secure.

So, if you’re searching for an all-in-one solution to check malware, prevent harmful assaults, and more, Imunify360 may be a good fit. As its extensive feature set makes safeguarding your website or server a breeze.

REAL-TIME MALWARE PROTECTION

Imunify360 can analyse scripts in real time and determine whether or not they are harmful. As a result, there’s no need to be concerned about harmful PHP scripts on your server.

Imunify360 does not allow anything to exploit a vulnerability, whether it is known malware or novel malware. To ensure that every layer of your server is protected against malware, the malware data is shared across its antivirus and WAF services.

REAL-TIME PROTECTION NETWORK AGAINST CYBERATTACKS

To detect and prepare for a threat, Imunify360 uses its whole network of connections with servers.

Let’s imagine you have a server that is infected with a new sort of malware discovered by Imunify360. The malware signature information will be shared with Imunify360‘s cloud network to enable other clients immediately defend against it.
NOTE: No customer data will be shared.

Many antivirus products for PCs use similar cloud networks to protect your devices all around the world.

EASY HOSTING CONTROL PANEL INTEGRATION

End-user-friendly security solutions are continuously striving to make things easier for them. Imunify360 accomplishes this by allowing you to integrate the service with your hosting platform’s control panel, such as cPanel or Plesk.

WEB APPLICATION FIREWALL

To improve its utility, the firewall tightly interfaces with ModSecurity web application firewalls that provide low false positives rules. Imunify360, when used in conjunction with WAF, blocks the vast majority of web application assaults before they even begin.

To prevent criminal activity and ensure that only legitimate clients may access your website, an advanced Captcha system and Splash Screen are used.

WEBSHIELD

WebShield handles CDN and proxy traffic by determining the attackers’ genuine IP addresses and distinguishing them from normal users’ IP addresses.

WebShield detects suspicious IP addresses and displays splash screens & CAPTCHA challenges to prevent fraudulent requests from causing harm or slowing down your system.

INTRUSION DETECTION AND PREVENTION SYSTEM

IP management is included in our Network Firewall and Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems. This is an Imunify Pluggable Authentication Modules extension, Open Source HIDS Security, and Port Firewall that protects FTP, SSH, IMAP/SMTP, and other system services against attacks.

Imunify360 comes with a powerful Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) that incorporates a large number of “deny” policy rules that prevent all types of attacks. And they’re effective against people who employ well-known or bespoke exploit tools.

The Intrusion Detection System (IDS) monitors server logs and gives you a clear picture of how secure your server is. It examines log files from several perspectives and blocks IP addresses that appear to be involved in harmful behaviour. This activity includes password failures, potential exploits, and other data, which is reported to the Imunify360 Dashboard.

Remote exploits are a high-priority issue for hosting providers’ clients’ web servers, and Imunify360‘s IDS and IPS will defend from the inside out and the outside in.

FILE-SYSTEM LEVEL PROTECTION WITH INPUT/OUTPUT OPERATIONS

During file input/output processes, the ultimate layer of defence happens at the File-System level, and this is where ImunifyAntivirus comes into action!

It includes:

  • A scanner that scans files in real time; a file is scanned when it’s loaded into the system, then is cleaned if it is malicious. This reduces the damage to an unprotected system and is especially beneficial to a system that has already been infected.
  • A background (regular) antivirus tool that analyses your server’s files on a regular basis to maintain it clean.
  • Administrators or end-users can launch On-Demand Antivirus at any moment to examine any arbitrary folder for infection.
  • A WordPress database scanner that looks for harmful JavaScript, iframes, and other material in WordPress records.

CENTRALIZED THREAT MONITORING

Imunify360 is a single engine that incorporates WAF, IDS, IPS, Network Firewall, Proactive Defense, and File Antivirus. It allows all system components to communicate data and gives a much higher level of security. This “synergy” is not observed with separate conventional security components deployed on the system since they are united under a centralised incident management system.

In your control panel, you’ll see a primary dashboard. This allows you to monitor your server’s general health and handle all areas of its security. All security events are displayed on the central dashboard, which is updated in real time with the most recent instances.

The central dashboard is fully customisable, allowing users to filter and pick events based on a variety of criteria, study incident details, access whitelist & blacklist management options, see settings, reports, and more!

So, what are you waiting for?

Securing a server might be difficult unless you are an expert. Even specialists find it difficult to keep up with the latest risks at times.

Imunify360 is a no-brainer for those that want ease but can’t afford a large in-house security team for their server; you’ll have everything you require at your fingertips!
